I Am Responsible…

When anyone, anywhere reaches out for help, I want the hand of A.A. always to be there. And for that: I am responsible.

About District 33 Online

Introduction and Mission Statement:

To promote interest in General Service work and encourage involvement, we aim to:

  1. Provide information to District 33 GSRs from Oregon Area 58 and the A.A. General Service Office (GSO).
  2. Offer a forum for addressing group or district concerns.
  3. Conduct service workshops and fellowship events to enhance understanding of our District activities and A.A.s General Service.
  4. Participate in other functions as deemed appropriate by this body.

This Mission Statement aligns with our Online District and stems from the November 2022 Area 58 motion that was passed, which authorized:

  • Creating an Online District within Area 58 for any online or hybrid groups lacking an affiliated district or wishing to change their current district affiliation. This district has received explicit permission to align with Oregon’s Area 58 following a motion passed at the November 2022 Quarterly Assembly’s Business Meeting.
  • Online groups currently affiliated with a district that holds in-person meetings will now have representation in an online district, enabling them to attend meetings virtually and ensure their voices are heard.
  • Recognition that multiple online groups within Area 58 have implemented trusted servant roles, including that of GSR.
  • Online groups to have GSRs physically in a different district than their geographical one.
  • From the 2021 General Service Conference (GSC), online groups may receive a group number to participate in the service structure: they are listed in the A.A. Meeting Guide App, and they can declare affiliation with a district of their choosing (if none is listed, the default is the geographical district of their designated GSR or contact).
  • Participation in an online district enables these groups to engage fully with the entire A.A. service structure. An online group DCM serves as a crucial link to the broader service structure, ensuring that groups are represented at Area Quarterly Business Meetings and Assemblies through both the DCM and GSRs.

Contributions/Financials

A.A. is self-supporting through our own contributions.  The district depends on contributions from individual members and A.A. groups.  Here you will find information about how to contribute online or send in contributions, as well as links to our Financial Reports.

General Service

The General Service Office serves as a hub of information between A.A. Groups and is the home of A.A. World Services, which oversees the publication and distribution of all A.A. literature. Here you will find information about the yearly General Service Conference, where information is shared between Areas, World Services, and the General Service Office regarding current issues, policies, and literature updates.

District 33

District 33 is an online District that is part of the AA service structure that links all A.A. information in Area 58  of the General Service structure.  Find the latest A.A. news in our DCM Newsletter, information about our meetings and events, standing committees and our policy documents.

GSR

General Service Representatives are the link in the chain of communication between our groups, the General Service Conference, and the world of A.A.  Here you will find the online link to the GSR Kit containing various pamphlets and service manuals to help better understand the service structure of A.A.

Meeting Guide App

Meeting Guide gives A.A. service entities full control of their local meeting information while collecting it in one place, making it easy for anyone to find a meeting. Local entities provide their meeting information voluntarily. Meeting Guide users can suggest additions or corrections to meeting listings by using links provided within the app to contact the local service entity responsible for the information.

Meeting Guide syncs with area, district, intergroup/central offices, and international general service office websites, relaying meeting information from more than 400 A.A. service entities directly to the Meeting Guide app. Over 100,000 weekly meetings are listed, and the information is refreshed twice daily.

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. A.A. is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.
